We are so thankful for this little piece of land that we have been able to work the last six months. When we started in July, it was an abandoned space, full of piles of trash, weeds, and bones (!).
Here in Guatemala, it is uncommon to find land available for planting in the center of town, near where most of the ladies live. In addition, to have a space that is completely fenced in and safe is a dream come true. Anyone can come and water the flowers in the evening without fear of being vulnerable. Not only that, but as we got to cleaning and clearing the land, we discovered the soil is gold! The space is blessed with fertile dirt, which the flowers love.
