YALICOC, CHISEC

The town of Yalicoc is located high in the central mountains of Guatemala. Because it is so remote, Yalicoc has no water source. In order to get water during the dry season, members of the town have to climb down into a cave to gather water and bring it back home, a process which takes up to 40 minutes multiple times a day

We have partnered with Servants Hearts Ministries to drill a well in Yalicoc to provide for the over 100 families in the region.

Despite hitting multiple obstacles with drilling in porous rock, Servants Hearts is in the process of obtaining specialized equipment to ensure the town gets water before the next dry season.
